Clinicians involved in planning and managing care may have an understanding of The ASAM Criteria, but can improve skills in assessment, linkage and monitoring treatment services and individualized treatment. This webinar will focus on how to work effectively with insurance payers and managed care. Skill building is needed to focus and target treatment under time and reimbursement pressures; change old ways of documentation to reflect individualized treatment, and improve communication between managed care and treatment providers.
- Apply ASAM Criteria multidimensional assessment to individualize service strategies and level of care placement and continuing care authorizations.
- Review clinical decisional flow from assessment to service planning to level of care decisions and placement.
- Discuss how to communicate about appropriate patient care between providers and insurance and managed care companies to explain ongoing level of care decisions.
